Beatenberg

The village of Beatenberg has a fantastic setting above Lake Thun. Here you will enjoy magnificent views, fresh alpine air and the calm of nature. Situated above Interlaken, Beatenberg provides you with an experience of nature high above the sea of fog. Here, you are at eye level with the mountains. The village takes its name from the legend that Saint Beatus drove the dragon out of the Saint Beatus Caves. The caves at the foot of the mountain are a fantastic excursion destination. You will discover a world of caves with fascinating formations. After visiting the caves, you leave the near shore of the lake and change perspective – and go up a height. From the Amisbühl viewpoint you start on an unforgettable tandem flight on a paraglider or delta wing glider. You will fly past hilly meadows and fields, over woods, the glistening Lake Thun, past the spectacular mountain panorama and hear the gentle whistling of the wind. This is what freedom feels like.

Beatenberg is the perfect starting point for numerous hikes whatever the season. In summer, the trails will take you across flowery meadows. You will be thrilled by the stories on the Erich von Däniken Path and the St. Beatus Trail. Panoramic trails and genuine ridge walks provide you with a wealth of new and enchanting views. Want to take things a little easier? Then take a trip up the Niederhorn on the cable car. And follow it with a speedy, fun adventure by riding back down to the valley on a trotti-bike.
