Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken

The Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken lies at the foot of Interlaken’s closest mountain, the Harder, at the base station for the Harderbahn funicular railway. At the park, several paddocks are devoted to the majestic ibex and you will also meet a colony of marmots. 
 
Ibex are also common in the mountains around the Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken. In the 19th century, the ibex almost became extinct in Switzerland. To support the ibex’s reintroduction to the Bernese Oberland, the wildlife park was established. The project was a success and the Alpine Wildlife Park has remained open to this day for the enjoyment of Interlaken and its visitors.
 
If you want to get up-close with ibex and marmots, then come visit them at home, in the Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken. Take a walk through the park and, if you’re feeling energetic, you can climb a few metres further to reach the Hohbühl Pavilion. There you’ll be greeted by idyllic views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz and the imposing mountain peaks.
