The Stockhorn promises action and some fantastic riding. Scooting down into the valley on a scooter bike offers a grand finale to an eventful day of hiking. Whether you are the daredevil type or a casual sportsperson, two alternative descents will surely meet your expectations.
From Erlenbach, a cable car transports visitors to the midway station at Chrindi and on to the peak of the Stockhorn, where it’s worth pausing to drink in the incomparable views across more than 200 alpine peaks. A one-hour walk packed with panoramic views extends from the Stockhorn summit to the scooter bike rental station at the Vorderstockenalp. Alternatively, you can step out of the cable car at Chrindi midway station and walk to the Vorderstockenalp in under 40 minutes. Whichever option you choose, both routes are clearly marked with signs reading "Vorderstockenalp / Trotti-Biken".

At the rental shop, pick up a vehicle and helmet – then hop on your scooter bike and speed into the valley. The entire route consists of a well signposted asphalt road. Steer your set of wheels through dense woods and tranquil mountain pastures, enjoying dreamlike views of the Simmental valley along the way. Around halfway down the valley, there is a choice to make: tackle the shorter and faster route, or continue with the longer, more leisurely option.
